In2wire craft workshop: Student's Creation

Great work on your first try at wire wrapping!

This is Haslina's second class with me. The first class she learned how to make a spiral bracelet, which i have forgotten to take pictures.....really i must must make the effort to remember that . After few workshops i have done and forgotten to take photos, darling hubby suggested that i ask my apprentice to tag along just so she can take some snapshots coz i will for sure not remember! :)

In2wire CRAFT WORKSHOP

Girls! You have all been fabulously patient with me and i THANK YOU very much :)

It was good exercise for me  going around and helping with each one of you and it was great to see your  enthusiasm and spirit to do the projects. For some its your first experience doing the wirework craft itself and i would say, great job! :)

Perhaps some of you may find it a little bit difficult at first but don't sweat it. In no time with practice you will master little details like making the spirals, hook and jump rings. As i said to Hui Ping later after class, even for me to master making the jump rings, i practice on one spool of wire! and that is a whole lot of jump rings, about 250pcs of em  :)

as you "let yourself go" into the craft, you will notice how easy things will get soon after and in no time you will be creating your own creation. I know we all want to do it right, but even for me its always still a learning process and as time pass by, you will just get better and better.

This craft will define the meaning of patience and your patience will be paid off with a beautiful piece of jewelry handcrafted by you.

Take care and smile always :)

During the workshop, each student received one Box containing printed color tutorials, 2 spool of wires, one beadbox containing some choices of beads for you to work and as a bonus if you noticed, you have more crystal donuts to work on for few more extra creations for intermediate class and for the elementary class i have added on two extra glass beads with different color choices :)

Jasmin's Crafty Mind

Not to be left behind, aisyah's sister JASMIN.
Jasmin is only 9 years old, but obviously VERY ambitious. She wants to be just like her big sister and mum and proudly crafted these two rings [with one more coming up soon] as part of J's Ring Triology :)  by applying the circle of life wrapping method i taught her earlier.

I love to do art and craft with my kids because it encourages them to  think. I encourage them to come up with something new and creative.

Jasmin decided to make it into a pendant to give to her cousin sha sha as a birthday present :)

Aisyah's Creations

This posting is dedicated to aisyah. She loves art very much and very passionate about her craft. As my apprentice, part of her task is to re-construct my jewelry designs using pictorials i created as her guide. To know whether my pictorials worked or need more detailed instructions, she will test it for me.  if its an effective tool, she need not ask me anything but if she needs more information then i know that the pictorial has some flaws.

I encourage every student of mine to be creative in their own way. No doubt getting ideas from beading mags, books and tutorials can help but coming up with something new is always a challenge.

One method i taught aisyah is to start something with an open mind and heart. To get  ideas thru this way is very difficult but once you get the idea..it will just flow from your heart and into your work.

To come up with an original work sometimes can finish up to one full spool of wire...but as we all know to succeed, you must first fail. With all the techniques and patterns we are so familiar with, apply some of these but make it your own.

The bracelet below is designed and crafted 100% by Aisyah. With no reference, she twisted the wires and added the beads as how she feels would look right to her eyes. No doubt  its a tad rough, but with some polishing, she can be very shiny in this craft :) After all, aisyah is only 15...and she has a long way to go.
well done!

Life is like a box of chocolates.....

Hello everybody,

Is life really like a box of chocolates?  if you happen to like everything chocolate...say chocolate with nuts, chocolate with raisins...plain chocolate, dark chocolate...orange chocolate...then i guess anything that you pick out from the box will always be a gud thing. BUT what if you only like milk chocolate and ONLY that?

i know the saying means that "you will never know what you will get"  and its right. You can pick one and it can be something you like or something you just hate...and sometimes....you can get chocolates with maggots!..and that must be the down low part of life.

Last week, had several things going that is like a box of chocolates. Two people that i had the privilege of knowing passed away within days of each other and both died of cancer. They were both young and i hoped they had lived their life as they wanted and made good of it. I  always hear the saying, LIFE IS SHORT.  i on the other hand, believed that life is as long as you lived it. Its never too short if you live your life by doing things that you love and do it good.

My son was also hospitalised last week for about a week. He is already discharged but recovery is pretty slow but we know that he will be ok. After hearing some  sad news of frens dying young, his recovery is definitely something we are so thankful to God.

AND as icing to a cupcake for this week ending,  i received a LOVELy surprise from a perfectly friendly stranger whom i made frens with recently thru my site. She took the trouble to send to me lovely lovely beads that she purchased recently and its all the way from Sarawak. THANK YOU to you, who has been so kind and thoughtful. May God bless you  and may your kind heart stay true and happy always :)

Its 4.05am. I know its late, but there are just so many things to do. Time will never wait for us. Once its past its past. So we have to find the time or make time for whatever we want to do. Even though its late, I am happy that i am able to complete one project that i have been saving for quite awhile just so i can concentrate and to pour in more of artistic idea into it and i hope it shall be well received :)

till then... take care  :))

work in progress

[please click on image for larger view]

HI everyone! :)

just to keep you all updated with what i have in store for you right after i am done with my project. Other than busy with the project that i will announce soon, i am in the mids of several other projects planned till end of this year.

As we go thru our life, i am sure we will always remember our first love, first car, first house, first of everything. When i made my first online sale, i can remember feeling very excited, nervous, scared about my customer's reaction all rolled into one huge ball bouncing around the pit of my stomach and chest. Sort like falling in love, right? hahaha

ok, Today i am making another first. My first export. A contact i made online who is now a very good fren and online chat partner, has given me the task of finding beads and stones for her own growing business overseas. I just love shopping, especially when using other people's expense account! All the beads and stones packed and i am sending it onto her way soon :)

Moving on to the pics i have uploaded here, these are still works in progress and to be completed and launched into my blog just before NEW MOON, sometime in november. Yup this collection is a follow up from the TWILLIGHT series. I am still playing around with the beads and design, so we will see what will actually emerge from my head :)

till then, thank you for your continuous support and keep a close watch for the next big thing coming soon :)

Holiday is over...back to crafting!

hi frens,

i MISS crafting...today i went to visit all my favourite places to see whats new and before i start on new projects i PLEDGE to finish 4 more orders i have in hand that was given some flexibility to me to undertake once i have settled. BUT before i start on my PLEDGE (hehehe...bit funny to me to do this first before that and before that to do something else first....i am NUTS!] i will need to organize the "chaos" i have created since Ramadan. Need to do some spring cleaning. i give myself a day to do that and then i will fulfill my pledge :)))

i see that its almost 10 days since i posted anything and tot will have tons of pics to post but luck has definitely been on my side of late, Alhamdulillah, because on the last day of the bazaar, the crowd was incredibly "generous" with me. THANK YOU :))

hope everyone's holiday break and raya celebration was as superb as mine.

take care n ....tata :))

My FAMILY

Its almost 3 weeks since we started this "crazy fabulous idea" of participating in a bazaar organized by Kelab Darul Ehsan. During this time we have become gypsy-like toting our XXXL luggages.

The experience has so far been good even though there were days when we just see the crowd pass us by as if we were invisible. Are we doing it again next year? hmmmm.......as my hubs said, down memory lane ,we will forever remember this year as the year we did that crazy thing! :)

I know the bazaar hasn't ended yet, but i have to say my prayers of thankfulness and much gratitude to my family who has been very patient and very supportive:

1. My husband, who helped to do the laundry, and more laundry and more laundry while i was busy twisting and cutting wires, who is kind enough not to say anything even when he hears "hammering" sounds in his dream when in fact they are REAL sounds coz i was indeed hammering at 2,3 4 am! , who helped to transport our XXXL luggage and jewelry frame board, who stayed with us to help man the booth even though convinced that he is scaring potential customers because of his "large" presence. The list goes on...... you did too much babe n love you for it! :)

2. My MIL, whom i hope enjoys the "company" of our crazy kids. She also takes care of the kids during break of fast. HOW can we ever repay that ?! MUM *hugs

3. My MUM, who is my #1 customer!.....*hugs

4. My SIL, who encourages us to "terjun jer dulu". Thank you for your patience too, $upport and help in promoting W&Q.

5. My Sisters n BIL, oh yes! very $uportive....thanks! :)

6. My kids, nieces and nephew. Thank you for your help carrying everything, thank you for not grumbling, thank you for not complaining, thank you for having the most fun! running around the club and i hope you all enjoy this crazy experience :)

i think that is about it! :))))

xox :)

A THOUSAND APOLOGIES! :)

hi!

now, who can remember who said the phrase "a thousand apologies"...?
clue: very funny british sitcom.

anyway, that is exactly what i would like to say to my gentle readers. I have made several new items but due to time constrain i am unable to post any of the pictures yet....even some sold without me being able to take a photo of it!..... i did manage a little bit of time to take the photo of the tournaline nuggets before it was whisked away and even that justice wasn't done because it was taken with no proper lighting and ....ehem...ehem....without background studio feel ...hehehehe but no worries, i received another order for the same style and WILL be sure to take a better snapshot of it kay :)

i also made many many many more bracelets using recently imported in polymer clay beads and chinese crystals under http://pebblesforkids.blogspot.com label. these are for now available at the KDE RAMADAN BAZAAR only that pictures are not taken so no postings yet, sorry.

lastly, i would like to say how much i appreciate to those who patiently waits for their orders. Thank you for your support and encouragement AND patience, *hugs :)

xox :)
