Handmade Wire Jewelry Workshop : ELEVYN-UNHCR, Jul 26th

Jul 26th was the last day of my work with the girls from the refugee centre.
I did some final walk thru on what we have done from the beginning and the possibilities if they continue to practice and develop the techniques i have taught them.

Apart from wire jewelry, we did some some needlecraft too and below is the beginning of a simple "baju" for them to try out and do.
The pink top below, made by esther.

mary with her baby joseph. when we began, mary was just days from delivery and look at the baby now!

Tang li too was also days from delivery when we began and this is Thomas!

we started with many and these 3 women are the last standing. We would have finished with four girls but Ling Yau was caught by an enforcer and because she does not posses an UNHCR card, i was told she will be deported.
She is currently placed in Kajang prison.
Luckily her children were not with her and now they are cared for by the Dai community. Her 3 children are  between the ages of 7 and 11 years old.

WE are very privileged. We belong to a country who recognises us as their citizen.
We have freedom of religion,
freedom of speech,
freedom to live as how we want to.

There are many reasons why people need to run from their home country.
Being oppressed is one of the reasons.
It can even be stay and die eventually or run to stay alive.
The refugees just needed a chance to begin again.

Please help support the cause.
