First time today! :)

hi everyone :)

had a great class today! AND there were a few FIRSTs today and if you been following my blog you know i just love recording the FIRSTs.

Today is the first time i taught a guy wire craft...and i should say that it isnt his first time doing it :)  either that or he is born to craft...a natural :)

today is also the first time i actually remembered to bring my camera ! yup months of doing this and first time i remembered to bring the real deal and not just snap from my camera phone....unfortunately (as always when i am exhilarated after a good class)...i  forgot to snap pics!!!

so calling to the crafters today, peisan, lionel, vani and sharon....if you read this, please please please send me a photo of the bracelets we made today and of other projects that you have completed after the class.

thank you gals and guy for a very interesting class and today by far is the most verbal interaction i had with students! i am happy with all the questions asked and i hoped it was an enjoyable class for you as it was for me :)

till then ,

IT's Already April!

well what do you know. its already april ( a week has passed too) and i just realised that it is already a year since i started the whimsicalnquirky blog :)

want to know how i started?
before i started doing wirework jewelry, i am seriously crazy about needlecraft. Anything that gotta do with sharp needles, i have done it :)
i still remember those days when i used to make day trips to singapore from KL just to get dozens and dozens of yarn balls. Everytime i passed the jewelry aisle at spotlight, i would linger and thinking should i start a new hobby?...and then the colorful yarns would be screaming at me and say...."hey! look here! you are here for us..not the jewelry findings!"  ...and i would say to myself...one day, one day.
the truth was that my hubby didn't encourage me to do jewelry making because knowing of my delicate fingers' condition (eczema) he said i would suffer.
I have never done stringing, i have never done jewelry beading and the closest beading  i have done is on baju kurung :)
and when i started to indulge myself into the subject of jewelry making in december 2008, i never looked back :)
i started a blog in April 2009 and my small online business began. I registered whimsicalnquirky.com.my in June after i see the potential that this can actually work for me :)
many are sceptical about starting an online business while my views are just the opposite. I really believe that it can work and never once i thought that it wouldn't. After my first online sale almost immediately after i set up my blog, i know that if you put your mind to it, it can happen.
believe in it.

:)

"HELLO BLOGGERS!" 50 BLOG MALYSIA PALING MENARIK

I was browsing thru magazines at my favorite SELVAN magazine shop in uptown when I decided just to check out the local mags. InTrend magazine caught my eye because of Mrs. Bung and then I saw it... "HELLO BLOGGERS!" 50 BLOG MALAYSIA PALING MENARIK pilihan InTrend.

I didn’t pick it up because...oh well...April is just around the corner...shall wait for the April issue when.... I decided to turn back and thought..what the heck...lets see who are the 50 bloggers...I can at least link them to my site and drive in traffic! :)

I was speechless. My blog was listed under "usahawan muda" and I felt a sudden overwhelmed feeling. Flashbacks of long nights struggling to build my site...reading CSS books to just understand what is HTML! and the codes.....at the same time promoting my site.....crafting my wares.....at the same time juggling to pay attention to the kids' studies...their well being....the cats....and I am so thankful for my better half...who took care of us all.

I just want to say THANK YOU to the person who picked my blog out of the other thousands that I believed worked just as hard to build their blog and business. As an "ushawan muda" and a work from home mother, I sincerely appreciate for the recognition. It’s placed in a tiny corner of the magazine and yet it means so much to me.

TERIMA KASIH! :)

M

Oh yes...BEFORE I go..... I would like to thank
for taking the trouble to list down the 50 blogs and the links.

I would like to share with you the other 49 blogs and their links :)
